Riverside Cafe
The latest and already revered feature of the hotel is the opening of Riverside Café Brandon
It’s purpose is simple.
We have extensively refurbished our delightful riverbank setting alongside the gorgeous River Little Ouse with a no expense spared terrace and lawn area which is the jewel in the crown for hotel guests and Brandon folk alike.
Featuring state of the art Swiss coffee from Shaerer in our own colourful bespoke ceramics or depending on the time of day offering a fabulous array of quality wines from around the world, beers lager and soft drinks the Riverside Café is simply put a delightful spot to enjoy the tranquility of Brandon’s river right in the heart of the old town with its beautiful historic buildings set off against the charm of the flint covered three arch bridge that gives the hotel it’s name
Over and above this the cafe space is subtlety lit at night with LED and solar lighting effectively highlighting the lines of the glass and steel that surround the space to keep you safe from the river edge while providing the most beautiful setting to sit and pass some time with whatever tickles your fancy refreshment wise
We have designed cast and polished our very own giant concrete fire table and given it pride of place on the river bank so that you can sit in the evening winter or summer around the most welcoming fire and enjoy our setting all the more
The table seats 12 so if you fancy reserving it for personal use or perhaps to host your own party with chef Danny serving up his delicious barbecue from our purpose designed grilling area alongside the table then just go right ahead and get in touch with Matt or Silva and we will do the rest to make your party go with a flourish!
It is a much talked about feature which will be launching for Christmas 2024 and will be in situ by the river in Brandon for years to come
There is nowhere to my knowledge anywhere that offers such a combination of style and luxury to enjoy the river from and with the shade sails overhead in the summer the patio and fire table area is something that we are all rightly proud of and that puts us up a notch again on any establishment in the region when it comes to the facilities we offer our hotel guests and just as importantly members of the public who want to come and enjoy our outdoor spaces too
Rowing boat hire is available in season and of course our trademark Pedalo Swan which seats four and is the perfect way to take yourselves off for a little sightseeing tour along the River Little Ouse
As soon as the café opened we immediately started having interest groups like wild swimmers cyclists and paddleboard groups seek us out and use us as a hub for their days activities and we are delighted about this and are very open for more groups of a similar ilk to enquire about spending a day on the river with us and of course having a night to stay in the hotel too if coming from further afield!
As a team bonding exercise for work colleagues it would be hard to beat!
It is a fantastic place for a gathering of any kind and we have been doing wedding receptions, special birthdays, anniversaries memorial teas for departed loved ones and a whole load more so please do get in touch about booking the space for anything you fancy celebrating and we will make sure it is an occasion to remember
In the summer our afternoon and cream teas are incredibly popular as is stopping in at the weekend for one of our legendary breakfasts which were superbly described as ‘heroic’ when we opened in 2014 and have only got even better as the years have gone by. Many Brandon folk come for brekkie at the weekend and we love to have them here as we wanted to make a facility for the town every bit as much as for the hotel guests
So far we seem to be hitting the spot!
Our fresh fruit and greek yoghurt selection is season is superb and sitting outside for breakfast or a light lunchtime snack and watching the river pass by with its swans ducks and even otters if you are lucky is something you’ll delight in if you’d like to come along and give the café a try!
